This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day clinical operations of our non-profit, community-based clinic. They also are responsible for ensuring smooth workflow between Case Managers, Providers, and administrators; while providing the best services to our patients.

Live Love Life, Inc. is a leading Community Based Organization providing testing, prevention and treatment of communicable diseases and STD’s as well as provide Primary Care, Specialty Health Care, Case Management, and other types of support for our enrolled clients. We also provide linkage to social services and other social assistance programs to uninsured, underinsured, and insured patients who have or are risk of acquiring STD’s, HIV and/or hepatitis C.

Live Love Life, Inc. is a local, non-profit agency, that is rapidly growing, opening several offices in Florida with plans for further expansion. The LPN-1 nursing position is a dynamic, full time, non-exempt position that performs clinic support services and interacts with patients, Providers and clinic staff through face to face, electronic, and phone communications.

We are seeking the well rounded candidate who has an engaging personality, understands and desire to care for our multiple patient types and desires career advancement opportunities. Ideal candidates may also have prior military, sales, leadership or business experience, may be bilingual, and would also have a strong desire to help others.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The LPN-1 nursing position has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Scan charts and documents into electronic medical records (EMR) as needed.
  • Work within the EMR to facilitate patient care under the guidance of the Medical Provider.
  • Create and update patient records with demographic and other information.
  • Conduct patient blood draw, perform rapid HIV tests and collect other specimens as needed and fill out accompanying forms.
  • Follow orders, provide treatments, and care as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with patient assessments and provide input on care plans.
  • Perform various nursing procedures
  • Prepare client chart notes for clinic days.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays and payments, call patients with test and lab results, and take messages.
  • Ensures security of health information and accurate and timely health data management
  • Utilizes the computer to generate daily patient list, print a copy of the next day’s schedule.
  • Review any patients that missed their appointments. Make a note in the patient’s chart and call them to reschedule, and then leave for the doctor to sign off on the chart.
  • Follow up on lab work to ensure completion.
  • Call patients to confirm appointments.
  • Communicate issues with the rest of team.
  • Bring patients to their rooms, see patient with provider, taking notes in EMR, coordinating all follow ups.
  • Set up exam rooms properly for visits and procedures.
  • Clean exam rooms, medical equipment and weekly office cleaning duties.
  • Keep track of medical inventory and supplies.
  • Properly handle medical waste and sharps.
  • Perform post-appointment calls and check on patients who miss lab, case manager or provider appointments.
  • When preparing charts, work to make sure we have referral note and any other needed patient information for visit.
  • File charts, handle faxes, fax/email referral notes back to referring doctors.
  • Review patient charts, State of FL forms and all documents ensuring completion, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on healthcare topics, including Infectious Disease, STD and HIV management and prevention.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records
  • Ensure all specimens sent to pathology are properly collected, recorded and all staff fill out forms correctly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: The LPN-1 position requires a minimum High School diploma or equivalent, LPN (or higher education) and 3 years experience in that role. (A highly skilled Medical Assistant may be considered). The candidate must possess good customer service skills, and experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

The LPN-1 must be proficient or become proficient in:

  • The use of technology, (such as EMR, WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, GOOGLE WORKSPACE, POWER POINT, and electronic billing software).
  • Experience performing venipuncture for specimen collection and correct processing.
  • Explain to the patient the procedure to be used in specimen collection.
  • Proficient in triage and assessment of patients in acute care settings.
  • Competence in performing laboratory tests and interpreting results.
  • Ultrasound guided venipuncture.

The LPN-1 must be able to pass a level 2 background screening, a drug screening, and must have a valid Florida Drivers License. This position requires that the be a resident of Florida and be authorized by law to work in the United States.

The LPN-1 position requires physical demands that include: ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, ability to be physically present at the workplace sites, and ability to lift up to 20lbs.

Employment is subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Pay: $25.11 - $31.64 per hour
