The community you’ll be caring for:
- Winter Park Memorial Hospital has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years
- Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness
- Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute
The role you’ll contribute:
The Endoscopy Associate assists the physician and RN in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures,
prepares and maintains the endoscopy equipment, Adheres to Adventhealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules
and regulations of all applicable local, State and Federal agencies and accrediting bodies, transports the patient, actively
participates in outstanding customer service, assists in patient care delivery under the direct supervision of the Registered
Nurse
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Provides safe, clean, tested and inspected items by performing decontamination and high-level disinfection/
- Maintains records on scope and instrumentation maintenance
- Prepares patients for procedures under the direction of registered nurse
- Identifies recording errors/artifacts and reacts appropriately
- Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each individual endoscopy procedure
- Under direct supervision of Physician and RN, instills medication via scopes
- Utilizes knowledge of video system equipment. Troubleshoots problems with the system as needed
- Follows Adventhealth policy and procedures
- Follows standard of practice according to Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Society of
- Performs other duties as assigned
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Grad
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of school of surgical technology, or LPN program or military program
- Experience working with patients
- Experience with decontamination and disinfection of equipment and instrumentation
- SGNA Associates program
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:
- Certified Surgical Technician, OR SGNA – GI Technical Specialist (GTS), OR SGNA – Advanced GI
