Dr. Brian A. Nobie Sworn in as 106th President of OCMS

Over 100 local physicians were present Wednesday evening during the OCMS Annual Meeting for the swearing in of the 106th President of the Orange County Medical Society, Brian A. Nobie, MD, F.A.C.E.P.

Dr. Nobie is an Emergency Medicine Specialist and currently serves as Director of Recruitment for Florida Emergency Physicians of TeamHealth. He went to Medical School at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his Residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

The Nobie family has a long history of service to organized medicine. In addition to serving in a number of volunteer capacities within the OCMS, Dr. Nobie also completed the Karl M. Altenburger, MD, Physician Leadership Academy at the Florida Medical Association. Adina Nobie has previously served as President of the Florida Medical Association Alliance and the Orange County Medical Society Alliance.

During his acceptance speech, Dr. Nobie articulated an ambitious agenda to drive the organization forward. He highlighted the continued need for the organization to advocate on behalf of our physician community and invest in their personal and professional wellbeing. He encouraged his peers to take advantage of the opportunities that are present with the energy surrounding the organization and the medical community as a whole.

The evening also offered an opportunity for the organization to recognize the considerable contributions of Clifford Selsky, MD, as his term as OCMS President came to a close. The President of the Florida Medical Association, David Becker, MD, was present to recognize the achievements of the organization and chart the course for statewide action in 2017.

Additional recognition was provided for the significant work being performed by the OCMS Alliance and SpecialCare of Central Florida.
